At 92 miles, Antero ultra-distance gravel race will start in downtown Salida. Racers will have a small level section to sort themselves out before turning up County Road 175. This is where the real climbing will begin. The course is super challenging with short and sustained climbs, fun descents and lots of open areas with amazing views. Feed zones will be fully stocked with bars, snacks, cookies, soda, banana’s and more. There will be sag vehicles and medical aid stations throughout the course. Antero will top out at over 10,500 feet and you get to enjoy over 10,000 feet of climbing. What goes up must come down, and you will have an amazing descent back to town with the finish on the railroad tracks right across the river from Absolute Bikes and the post party. Time to eat and drink. You deserve it.

As the profile shows, Antero will send you out on a 10+ mile climb after making the turn on to CR 175. Approximate vertical gain is 2800 +/- feet. You will be treated to a nice descent as you head toward Feed Zone 1 to refuel.

Enjoy another nice climb as you approach Feed Zone 2 before getting to the high point of the day at 10,600 feet!  From this point, the course is a mixture of undulating terrain as you make your way back to Feed Zone 1. Start preparing for your descent back to town!
