After a stellar inaugural year, we are back again over Memorial Day weekend 2022 for the second annual Mad Gravel Weekend. This year we’re bringing to you a circuit race on Saturday, the full MG Race on Sunday and the MG Tour on Monday. As usual, we expect it to be one of the most challenging gravel events on the calendar. Three course options on Sunday (race-day) and Monday (tour) are sure to bring you epic roads, punchy climbs, quick descents, wide open spaces, and will take you back to remote and beautiful country in and around Elbert County. Based out of the Peaceful Valley Boy Scout Ranch south of Kiowa, Colorado, riders will be tested, but get to enjoy the amazing views and high peaks of the Colorado front range. That alone is worth the price of admission! Bring the family, participate in a variety of events, camp, relax and enjoy.

Mad Gravel is now a full-on weekend gravel event. Saturday will be fast and furious circuit race within the boundaries of the Peaceful Valley Scout Ranch. Look for some great windy gravel roads and a mix of twisty single-track sections. It will be unique. Sunday is the biggie. Racers have the option to pick one of 3 epic routes along the eastern Colorado slope. With amazing views of Colorado’s high 14’ers, you’ll get the best vantage point of the entire front range.  Don’t begin to think this is a flat course. There are serious punchy climbs throughout, but you won’t even notice as you take in the stunning landscape. On Monday, come out and enjoy the ride. We will have a fully supported 42 or 85 mile course that covers all the highlights from the previous day. But do it at your own pace with your buddies.  As one of the first gravel events on the Colorado calendar, you will be glad you participated in this fully supported and ultra-scenic race. When the riding is over, the party begins where drink, music and post-race food await you back at the expansive hall overlooking the venue. Not to miss!

At a solid 78 miles, MG Marathon is the “just right” option for Mad Gravel. Plenty of mileage while still enjoying an epic tour of the eastern plains. Prepare yourself for some awe inspiring moments while you take in a great panorama of Colorado’s high peaks. Pikes Peak alone is stunning that time of year with its snow capped peak. Be treated to 3 aid stations on course so you can pack light.
